3. How will we know whether this study is correct? What evidence will it take to convince you?

This year we have covered many topics in biology. While reading chapters is its own kind of fun, reading articles about biology and understanding them enough to discuss them is the real fun.
I think that you are well prepared for this type of assignment and what you put in to it will equal what you get out of it.

Good luck on the exam Monday.
So we spent this week dissecting a fetal pig! All i can say is that it was sweet. Not only did i get to have fun being a mad scientist, i ALSO learned somehting while doing it, haha! There was nothing left of that pig when i was done with it. But hey, at least i didnt cut the head off like tim did! Oh well, it was a sweet cross section. We so need to dissect a cat next….
smoking during a pregnancy has many harmful effects on the fetus. It is one of the biggest causes of poor pregnancy outcome. For one, over 200 neurochemicals flow from the mother to the fetus. These chemicals include adrenaline, dopamine, serotonin, and other hormones. This unnatural increase in the fetus’s hormones can lead to many health issues such as low birth weight.
Since nicotine is more addictive than cocaine, the fetus goes through chemical withdrawal and detoxification during the first few hours of life. Nicotine also has lasting effects on the baby’s nervous system and respiratory system. Attention-deficit disorder (ADD) is another disorder linked to high nicotine levels entering the fetus’s bloodstream. It is thought that it is one fo the major causes of ADD.
trying to quit with a patch is more harmful to the fetus than the actual smoke, since it is delivering nicotine straight into the blood, which allows it to enter the fetus more easily.
